What Is a Door Schedule and Why Is It Important for Quotation?
What a door schedule does
A commercial door schedule is the shared reference that connects every opening to its required leaf, frame, finish, hardware and performance. It normally uses a unique door mark for each type or opening. Suppliers use those marks to calculate quantities, identify missing details and prepare a quotation that can be checked against the drawings.
Core information to include
- Door mark, quantity, location and room references.
- Leaf width, height, thickness, material and finish.
- Frame profile, depth, material and wall condition.
- Required rating, vision panel, louver and seals.
- Handing and the corresponding hardware set.
When some information is not finalized, mark it clearly instead of leaving an unexplained blank. This helps suppliers separate confirmed scope from allowances.
Why schedules improve quotation accuracy
Without a structured schedule, suppliers may count openings differently or assume standard frames, finishes and hardware. The resulting prices cannot be compared fairly.
